Senator Schumer calls on Congress for passage of disability services bill

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer has called on Congress to pass the Disability Integration Act.

Currently, Schumer said Medicaide pays for services if a disabled person is institutionalized but not if they live at home or in a community. He said the new legislation will help individuals with disabilities live more independently by providing necessary at-home and community-based services and supports.
