U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer stopped in Syracuse on Monday to tout his legislation that would promote independent living for Americans with disabilities.
Schumer, D-N.Y., visited ARC of Onondaga to discuss his Disability Integration Act of 2015. The bill would guarantee anyone eligible for institutional care the option of receiving the same services and support at home, or a setting of their choosing.
